Scarborough Dominates 600's, Griffin and Carbee Top 500's
Posted 2016-06-06 at 08:03The Granite State Mini Sprints had their first Double Header Weekend of the season, competing Friday night at The Legion Speedway in Wentworth, NH and Saturday night at the Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT.
Friday night at The Legion Speedway found 20+ 500cc Machines in attendance and they put on a good show. Robert Griffin used a couple of yellows to his advantage and worked his way to the front to take the hard fought win. Tanner Siemons continued his hot streak by coming across the line second. Brent Warren drove from deep in the field to finish third. Owen Carbee and Kyle Pittman completed the top five.

The 600cc class at The Legion Speedway saw a hard fought battle for the first few laps between Kyle Belliveau and Johnny Scarborough for the lead until Scarborough got a run off turn two to move solidly into the lead. Scarborough went on to take the win with Belliveau second and John Mills third. Robert Griffin finished fourth and Sean Beinhauer completed the top five.
Saturday night at Bear Ridge Speedway it appeared that Tanner Siemons hot streak would continue as he worked his way to the lead and was pulling away, but with just a handful of laps left started slowing, ultimately blowing the motor and coasting to a stop mere yards from the finish line. Owen Carbee, who led early, took advantage of Siemons misfortune and went on to take his first career victory. Robert Griffin crossed the line second after recovering from a mid race spin with Ed Vickery third, Matt Calley Fourth and Riley Chaffee fifth.
The 600cc event once again found Johnny Scarborough taking the win with Kyle Belliveau second. Defending 600cc Champion Tony Shaw claimed third with John Mills and Jillian Badger completing the top five.
